Pictures, pictures, pictures

I don't have an expensive camera.
I have a point-and-shoot that is great for having on my person at all times, and it has served me well. Also, it was a birthday gift from Adam, which makes it nicer.

I also got a food processor. That made me jump up and down.

Seriously.

Anyway, there are times that I wish I could take good photographs. Now, I'm not saying that I'm the worst photographer, but I'm not great, I don't even know if I would say that I'm good.
I'm still experimenting and trying new things.
But, there are times when I think, "Man, I WISH I could take a photo as well as that person can! Awesome!"

I do what I can, with what I have.

Adam has always said, "You really should document things in our life, have it in an online profile. So, even if no one sees it but us, we have a way to look back on things."

This is a good idea. I hate that there are certain things in my life that I have no way to look back on.

One example?

I lived in Norway for ONE YEAR and I have maybe 20 photos. Yeah, that's horrible. I spent a YEAR in one of the most beautiful places in the world and I didn't have any photos of my time there. It's pitiful.

Anyway, that's what this blog is about. Having a place to put photos, memories and ideas in one place. And while I love to post photos of my time here, I still get a little, "Meh", when I want to have better photos than I have. I know that it just takes time and practice.

But I am not a patient woman. I guess I'll have to learn.

Here are some photos that I have in my computer from the past year.

Adam and myself. Clearly the most attractive couple, EVAH!

The view from my apartment. In winter, obviously a very mild one.

Go Sioux!

Handsome boy.

My Handsome Little Man....

I can't help that my little James is so photogenic.

The camera just LOVES him!

Diet Coke Brownies

I've been trying new recipes lately, seeing if I come up with some new favorites.
I think this recipe might make the cut.
I rarely have the ingredients I need to make certain recipes, this is due to me not really keeping track of my pantry.

Oops.

But a recipe that only requires 2 items? I can deal with that.

I found this through this blog post, and they were really good! Fudgy and delicious, just like brownies should be. Very quick and easy. I definitely will use this in the future.

Date Day!

To be honest, I kind of dropped the ball with this Date Day.
I really wanted to do something cool and fun, since this past week has been stressful and Adam and I are working opposite schedules. It makes hanging out not very easy.

I had so many ideas I wanted to do for this Date Day, but none of them panned out.
I was kind of upset about it.

So, we just did some of our usual routines for this weekend.
Good food, and just hanging out and enjoying our time together.

When I type it out like that, it doesn't sound so bad.

First stop was good food. We went with Spicy Pie in Downtown Fargo.

Yummy pizza is always a good idea.

This was our view from the front table. They had Scooby Doo painted on the windows. Fun!

Haha, I took this when Adam didn't suspect it, he doesn't normally look like this. I swear.

 Pepperoni pizza is Adam's favorite.

Dairy Queen was dessert, and then we picked up some beers to have while we hung out at home. It was relaxing and fun.

Thanks for being an awesome date, Adam!

Date Day!

It was Adam's turn for date day this week.
And since we are trying to not spend any money this month (except for bills and groceries), he definitely had a challenge in coming up with ideas.
Our first stop was Target. The idea was to go around the store and find items that you would purchase if you were able to. Basically, it was doing a wedding registry without that neat little gun.

Adam needed to get this hat, it was calling to him.

The toy section is always a favorite. Obligatory foam sword fight not included in pictures. I was busy trying to kill him.

We went to JL Beers for a quick burger (remember that whole 'no spending' thing? oops), and after that we visited a pawn shop.
Which, honestly, wasn't that impressive.
Not any really cool items. Maybe watching too much Pawn Stars is just ruining every other pawn store experience.

But, Barnes and Noble? That place is ALWAYS a good time.

This is going to be Adam's next birthday gift.

This shall be my next gift (from myself).

Ummmmmmm.........

This is not from Barnes and Noble. If it was, I think that reading your favorite book might become more exciting. Our next stop was to Sears, where we were trying to come up with the best "Zombie Apocalypse" weapon.

Adam won.

This is what it looks like in all of it's glory.

All in all, it was a fun time, hanging out at fun stores, looking at interesting items. Now, I have to start thinking of what I'm going to do next week.

Ideas?

Signs of Love

Adam has been making my morning coffee for me for the last couple of weeks.

It makes my entire day a little bit better.

I love him.

An Evening Alone

It's always nice to have an evening to yourself.
You can watch whatever movies you'd like, make a dinner you have been craving, paint your nails an awesome color, and hang out with your cat children.

And wine. There has to be wine.

Barbie Nails

Sometimes, all it takes is just a little bit of sparkle to make your day a little bit better.

See?

Nature Anyone?

I think it would make me freak out in about 5 minutes.

Cool, but scary.

I Need Another Vacation

Vacations are such a great way to recharge and come back ready to face the world.
I am ready for another one.

Adam, where shall we go next?

(Also, we really need to learn how to smile. Yeesh.)

Watch Out!

Adam better watch out, I will definitely be hitting him with a snowball if he's not careful!

I guess I won't, I kind of like this guy.

No, really, I don't have a problem!

Adam says that I have a "problem". An addiction, if you will.
I disagree. Just because I need to have my coffee Every. Single. Day. does not mean that I have issues.

Really, I can quit anytime.
 I swear.

Now, I need to go get the kettle off the stove, my coffee is almost ready.

This Weekend....

It was a nice, relaxing weekend. Always the best kind, spending time with friends, getting a few chores done, and playing with a baby. :)

Making a few loaves of bread with my precious bread machine. Ever since Adam told me that he loves homemade bread vs. the store bought (who doesn't?), I've always tried to have a few loaves of bread so he can make his sandwiches.

Put in the ingredients, press Start and let it go! What could be easier?

I made one loaf with rice flour. Very tasty!

Whenever I am in the kitchen, I always have a great helper! Mister James is never far from me, especially when I'm making food.

Strawberry scones were a perfect way to use up all of the frozen berries that I have in the freezer from last summer.

I asked Adam to make me a Valentine's Day card this year instead of buying one. He definitely delivered! We are in L.O.V.E. with the show How I Met Your Mother, and so he made his card based on our favorite character, Barney Stinson. I loved my card so much, I have it hanging in the kitchen, so I can look at it every day.

Since we actually got some snow this year (it's been such a warm winter!), Adam said that we needed to play a game of King of the Hill. Well, we nearly killed ourselves, since the mountain of snow that we chose was basically ice. Thank God we are still alive, we almost didn't make it.

Our friend Maggie hosted her first Pampered Chef party on Sunday. Adam held Baby Dude for most of the party, he even fed him! They were both wearing gray sweaters, and every woman there commented on it. Pretty adorable.

So, yeah, a pretty awesome weekend. The next one can't come sooner!

Kitchen Envy

Just some internet kitchen photos that are making me happy.
